Angel Stadium is like home to A-Rod

In games in Anaheim, the Yankees' Alex Rodriguez has 37 homers, 82 RBIs and a .335 batting average. Meanwhile, Angels Manager Mike Scioscia says he is sticking with Vladimir Guerrero in cleanup spot.

If the Angels hope to climb back into the American League Championship Series today they'll likely have to put a dent in Alex Rodriguez's sterling record at Angel Stadium.

The Yankees slugger had hit 37 home runs, driven in 82 runs and batted .335 in Anaheim entering this year's postseason.

And now he returns to Angel Stadium with a hot bat through the first five games of the playoffs, with three home runs and eight RBIs -- including his dramatic 11th-inning blast Saturday night at Yankee Stadium that tied Game 2 of the ALCS, which New York won in the 13th inning to sweep the opening two games.

"Evidently Alex is pretty comfortable here in Anaheim," his teammate Derek Jeter said. "Some guys, I think, just are comfortable in certain stadiums."

Even so, Jeter said "it's kind of hard to believe" how well Rodriguez hits at Angel Stadium because the Angels "have a great pitching staff."

Yankees Manager Joe Girardi agreed that Rodriguez has matched up and has hit well even though "I wouldn't really look at the ballpark here in Anaheim as being a hitter's ballpark."
