Waka Flocka Flame questioned by police for Charlotte shooting




 Rapper Waka Flocka Flame is one of four people being questioned by police after a shooting in East Charlotte. 
He came in voluntarily and is not considered a suspect, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police spokesperson Rob Tufano.  However, police are still investigating what role the 24-year-old rapper and his entourage may have played in the shootout.
Waka Flocka Flame stopped at the Car Stereo Warehouse on Independence Boulevard Wednesday afternoon to make some upgrades and improvements to his tour bus.
Instead, witnesses tell NewsChannel 36 that a group drove into the parking lot and opened fire.
“Everybody was ducking.  They were scared and knocking each other over.  It was crazy,” said one witness who was inside the store at the time of the shooting.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officials tell NewsChannel 36 that one person was shot in the shoulder.  That person is at Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to CMPD.
Police officials say they are getting conflicting stories from witnesses, but are starting to make some progress on the investigation.  CMPD is looking for two vehicles that were seen leaving the crime scene – an older model, white Land Rover and a newer model, white Dodge. 
There have been several violent incidents in Waka Flocka Flame’s recent past.

Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame was in what is believed to have been an attempted robbery on Tuesday, January 19th. The rapper who is linked to Gucci Mane’s ‘So Icey Entertainment’ was shot at multiple times at a local car wash/gas station over jewelry

Waka Flocka born Juaqin Malphurs is stated to have been washing his car when the robbery took place. While at the car wash, the rising rapper was approached by a gunman who wanted to ‘gank’ him for the chain on his neck.
This isn’t the first time a hip hop artist’s necklace has been taken or stolen. In 2005, rapper T-Pain’s necklace was stolen while at the New York club Taji. In 2007, rapper Young Buck reportedly was robbed at gunpoint outside of a Nashville, TN nightclub called The Place. In 2008, rapper Yung Berg’s chain was taken in a Detroit nightclub. Also, during the same year, rapper B.G. is reported to also have had his chain stolen but from a groupie after waking up from a good time in Milwaukee. Later 50 Cent’s chain was reported to have been stolen via an alleged snatch and run after a fan pretended to want to hug him. The list just goes on and on from Tyga to Sean Kingston, amongst others.
Meanwhile, Fulton County police state that there was a scuffle that took place and shots were fired. Waka Flocka is stated to have been shot twice and the authorities are currently looking for the suspect that fled the crime scene. Meanwhile the blogosphere world is stating that the person that shot him is believed to have been an old associate of the rapper.
Currently the rapper is stated to be at home after being released from the hospital on Tuesday night.
Police are looking for a black male, between the age of 21-25 (early twenties) with a dollar sign on his left cheek as well as three squares, two circles and two more circles between his eyebrows.

In May of 2010, shots were fired in Charlotte after Waka Flocka Flame made an appearance at a club on Independence Boulevard.
