A dispute between neighbors over a dog may have led to a fatal shooting early Monday morning, according to the victim's sister. Images Police said officers were called to 24th and Olive streets on a report of a shooting at 12:56 a.m., and found Russell O. Bishop, 50, suffering from a gunshot wound. Bishop was rushed to a hospital, but died from his injuries a short time later.Levetta Hall said her brother had gone to the grocery store and his dog got out of the house and went to the neighbor's yard.Hall told KMBC's Justin Robinson that when her brother returned, the neighbor threatened to shoot the dog. There was a scuffle, and Hall said her brother was shot in the leg."He's dead over a trivial dispute over a dog. My mother has to bury a son over a meaningless dispute between neighbors. We're devastated and speechless," Hall said.No arrests have been made. Police said the shooter drove off in a late '90s model extended cab pickup truck.
