KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police have identified the victim of Kansas City’s 100th homicide of the year as a high school senior.
Police say 17-year-old Rickey King was shot to death Saturday night near 53rd and Brooklyn.
Officers arrived to a shooting call to find Rickey and another male shooting victim inside a car. Rickey was pronounce dead at the scene.
The other victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Kansas City Public Schools spokesman Andre Riley said Rickey was a senior at Southwest High School.
