Jay Z Reveals How They Decided Beyonce Would Announce Pregnancy

Jay-Z who cleans up nicely for the cover of GQ magazine, has clearly had one crazy year. The rap mogul is about to become a father next year, is touring with Kanye, recording a solo album and undertaking more business ventures. Jay recently revealed to the mag how he and his wife decided to announce they were going to be parents:
“It was actually Bey who wanted to [announce] it,” Jay says. “You want to be in control of your life.”
Jay-Z, when asked if he’ll be putting a car seat in the Maybach:
“Yeah,” Jay smiles. “Wouldn’t that be great? That would be a great picture.”

Jay-Z opened up to GQ magazine about the absence of his father, Adnes Reeves, who's now deceased. Jay recalls that Reeves became a different person after the murder of his brother.

"He was gone," Jay says. "He was not himself." Soon after Jay-Z's father left, he was only 11 years old.

"My dad was such a good dad that when he left, he left a huge scar," he revealed.

"I bet [my dad] didn't believe he'd spaz out and leave either."

"If your dad died before you were born, yeah, it hurts - but it's not like you had a connection with something that was real."

In 2003 Jay-Z had another moment to make peace with his father:

"[I talked about] what it did to me, what it meant, asked him why. There was no real answer. There was nothing he could say, because there's no excuse for that. There really isn't. So there was nothing he could say to satisfy me, except to hear me out. And it was up to me to forgive and let it go."

Now Jay-Z is preparing for a different kind of fatherhood when his wife Beyonce welcomes their first child in February 2012.
