Nicki Minaj Getting Own Barbie Doll Mattel To Auction
Mattel will produce and auction off a special Nicki Minaj Barbie doll for charity.
The doll will be available on Wednesday at CharityBuzz.com, as well as on showcase at Divine Design's five-day event at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. You can make a bid starting on December 19, but the starting bid is $1,000.
All proceeds go to Project Angel Food, providing food for adults and children with HIV and AIDS. Previous celebrities to get their own Barbie at the event include Carol Channing, Rachel Zoe and Janet Jackson.
Stefani Yocky, a spokeswoman for Barbie, said: "Barbie is obviously a pop culture icon. She's been in the spotlight for over 50 years, and strikes that chord with girls of all ages in terms of being representative of the times. And Nicki is a big part of pop culture and also huge within the fashion industry, as well as a big Barbie fan. It's really exciting for us that she's been so generous to allow us to create this one-of-a-kind doll to support such an important cause."
Minaj looks to have a busy 2012, with the release of her new album as well as several marketing deals.
