B.o.B lost the top hip-hop seat on The Billboard 200 sales chart this week to Fort Myers, Florida rep Plies.
Plies earned the honors after his new album, Goon Affiliated, grabbed the No. 5 spot on the charts. According to the Nielsen SoundScan report, the Southern MC sold 56,300 copies of his fourth solo disc since hitting store shelves last Tuesday (June 8).
Ten positions down is the Black Eyed Peas’s The E.N.D. at No. 15. Continuing their lasting impact, the group’s latest disc, which has now been on the charts for a remarkable 53 weeks, moved 20,700 units. To date, will.i.am and company have sold 2,589,800 discs.
2009 XXL Freshman B.o.B.’s The Adventures of Bobby Ray came in at No. 27 this week, moving 17,300 additional CDs. His seven-week total now comes in at 22,600.
Meanwhile, Nas and Damian Marley’s joint offering, Distant Relatives, held onto their top 40 slot, landing at No. 32 this week with 13,200 LPs sold. That brings their one-month tally to 113,000.
Along with Plies, Lil Jon also entered the charts this week. His long delayed Crunk Rock sold nearly 9,000 copies and landed at the No. 49 position.
