Chris Brown Begins Community Labor In Virginia
Wednesday (September 16) appears to be the first of Chris Brown's 180 days of community labor, which he's serving as part of his sentence for assaulting former girlfriend Rihanna in February.
On Wednesday morning, the 20-year-old singer tweeted, "On my way to community service," presumably referring to the six months of work such as washing official vehicles, picking up trash and removing graffiti that he'll be doing in his native Richmond, Virginia.
A few hours later, a series of photos tagged "exclusive" were posted on the singer's recently launched site, MechanicalDummy.com, showing Brown picking up trash roadside while wearing an orange safety vest and under the watching eye of police officers. When contacted last week for confirmation on when Brown would be starting his community labor, a spokesperson for the Richmond Sheriff's office said no information would released concerning Brown's duty. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Probation Department had no comment on the Brown photos at press time.
In addition to the community labor, Brown was sentenced to five years of probation and one year of domestic-violence counseling, and he was ordered to stay away from Rihanna for five years. While the singer has kept a low profile since a shaky appearance on "Larry King Live" following his sentencing, he has been active on his Twitter account lately, posting photos of his tricked-out Virginia pad, a link to the "Drop It Low" video in which he appears and a post that made him appear to be pining for Rihanna.
