Chicago Bears officially release DE Alex Brown

The Bears ended the eight-year tenure of Alex Brown in Chicago on Thursday when the released the defensive end.
Brown, who's played with the Bears since being drafted in 2002, had indicated his time in Chicago would end on Wednesday. He released a message on Twitter saying he was "extremely grateful for my time as a Chicago Bear and I wish the Bears the best."
USA TODAY's Mike Dodd noted from Chicago that Mark Anderson will be the presumptive starter in place of Brown, along the same line with newly-signed DE Julius Peppers. -
