Bow Wow Owes IRS $90,000

The rapper disputes report he’s in debt for back taxes from 2006.

Uncle Sam has never been hesitant about going after hip hop stars that have been delinquent with their taxes. The latest rapper to reportedly land in the crosshairs of the IRS is Bow Wow, who is allegedly in debt to the government for almost six figures.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the rapper/actor born Shad Moss owes the IRS $91,105.61for unpaid taxes from the year 2006. The government has filed a tax lien in Florida where Bow Wow owns property.

Bow Wow took to his blog to dispute the report of his financial troubles, calling it “not true,” and advising his fans not to believe what they read.

“We all know not to believe anything the media writes or blogs,” Bow Wow wrote. “It’s their job to entertain the minds of the simple minded.”

He urged fans to ignore the report and turn their attention to the release of his now delayed album Underrated.

“Stay away from them damn blogs its bad for your health,” he wrote. “Ima always keep it 100 with yall and let yall know the real on anything I got going on even if its bad if it’s the truth I'll own up to it.”

As for his first solo effort as a member of Young Money Records, which was scheduled for release next week, Bow Wow says the wait will be well worth it.

“My album sounds nothing like what you’ve heard come out of the camp [Young Money/Cash Money] PERIOD so far,” the rapper wrote. “This is my “Classic” Underrated is a classic.”
