When Rihanna and Jay-Z team up on a song, the end result is usually a chart-topping hit. After listening to ‘Talk That Talk,’ it looks like history will repeat itself. As we previously reported, this will be the powerhouse duo’s fourth collaboration since their 2007 hit single ‘Umbrella.’
The mid-tempo song features whining synthesizers and a pounding beat courtesy of the hit-making tandem Stargate. On the track, the Barbadian princess coos seductive come-ons to a potential lover. “I’mma get it right on the first try for you / ‘Cause you ain’t never had a woman like me / And you will never have another like me / No, so I’mma give it to you baby,” she sings.
Jay-Z is unexpectedly raunchy with his verse, but like the song title suggests, the veteran rhyme-slinger comes through with that big talk. “Everything that I do is big / I talk big money, I talk big homes / I sell out arenas, I call that getting dome,” he raps. Despite his explicit lyrics, the tune shouldn’t have any problems getting radio airplay.
Overall, Rihanna’s infectious song is a pop no-brainer — score another big hit for RiRi and Jigga. And don’t forget, Rihanna’s ‘Talk That Talk’ will hit stores on Nov. 21.
