The 13-time singles Grand Slam champion
Serena Williams and her sister Venus Williams will play an Exhibition
match in Milan, schedule to begin on Saturday 3rd December.
The
former World No. 1 Serena and Venus will clash against World No. 11th
ranked Francesca Schiavone and Flavia Pennetta of Italy in the
exhibition tournament in Milan this weekend. Both the sisters have
return back to action, after suffering from several injuries and
illness. The Milan Exhibition tournament organizers said the event will
feature four singles matches and one doubles match at the Mediolanum
Forum on Saturday.
The World No. 13th ranked Serena, who
has clinched two WTA championships at Rogers Cup and Toronto Masters
this season and withdrawn from all events with injury. Venus has
clinched victory over Serena in an Exhibition match in Colombia in
straight sets with a 6-4 and 7-6 (5) on last weekend, where both the
sisters are back to court, since 2011 US Open in August. The Williams
sisters have skipped from the 2009 and 2010 Fed Cup titles, when Italian
stars Schiavone and Pennetta led Italy past the United States.
The seven-time major title holder Venus
has posted a message on her Facebook wall that she is getting ready to
play in Milan for the first time and looking forward to show best
performance. Venus is very eager to play in front of the Italian fans.
She is planning to begin her 2012 WTA Tour in January at the ASB Classic
in Auckland.
